Block IIA Satellites

Block IIA GPS satellites were first launched in 1989. They're no longer being launched, and older satellites of this type are gradually being replaced with newer satellite models.

Block IIA satellites broadcast signals on the L1 and L2 carrier frequencies.

Block IIA satellites lack the capability to broadcast L2C and L5 signals.

Newer satellite models include Block IIR, Block IIR-M, and Block IIF.
