Block IIR Satellites

The first Block IIR satellite was launched in 1997. They're no longer being launched, and older satellites of this type will gradually be replaced with newer satellite models.

Block IIR satellites broadcast signals on the L1 and L2 carrier frequencies.

Block IIR satellites lack the capability to broadcast L2C and L5 signals.

Newer satellite models include Block IIR-M and Block IIF.
