GPS satellite

A GPS satellite is a man-made device that travels around Earth in a medium orbit, transmitting data that can be used by GPS receivers to determine their location.

Over the years, several different satellite models have been developed for the U.S. GPS system. The latest models are able to broadcast new signals that are not available from earlier models.
